Traveling horses can experience a lot of stress, causing them to reduce water intake and risk becoming dehydrated.  The new Purina Hydration Hay blocks are a great way to provide quality, consistent alfalfa and grass hay to horses with water at the same time.  Simply put a compressed Hydration Hay block into a bucket with 5 qts of water and in about 10 mintues, your horse will be eating a flake of high quality, moist hay along with about a gallon of water.
  • Each block only weighs 2 lbs, and is equivalent to about 1 flake of hay, but are easier and cleaner to carry, feed, and travel with.
  • Reduces the need to haul water and large bales of hay while traveling.
  • Masks the odor of water while at shows or traveling, so that the animals will drink more.
  • Convenient way to add medications and supplements - just mix in to the soaked hay!
  • Excellent form of hay or roughage for horses with respiratory issues or allergies.
  • Great for cattle, sheep, and goats - especially show animals.

I tried the Purina Rehydration Hay on my elderly horse. He has been having chronic diarrhea for the past couple of years. We tried everything: Biosponge, treating for sand colic, etc. I tried the Rehydration hay two weeks ago and NO MORE DIARRHEA! He loves the Rehydration hay more than his Equine Senior, which is saying a lot, because this boy loves to eat! The small cut of the hay does not irritate his intestine like stemmy regular hay. Hooray!
