Original Equine Senior is the most recommended feed for aging horses - so why the need for a second formulation?
First of all, there is no specific age at which a horse is considered "senior". Senior status is determined by a combination of the horse's activity level, teeth condition and digestive ability. For the horse who has lost his ability to chew well and digest hay and forage, original Equine Senior is the best way to keep him healthy and happy. Original Equine Senior is easy to chew and digest, keeping the horse in great condition while providing the roughage needs that would otherwise be difficult for him to eat.
For the more active, "young at heart" horse with good dental health and digestive abilities, the Senior Active formula can provide better nutrition, more calories, and at a lower cost per feeding.
